Give a gift, which makes a difference. Our Alternative Gift scheme means that you and the people you care about can give something practical towards one of our partnership projects with J&D. The individual items have been selected to give a good range of themes and equipment related to our current projects - if you want to know more about the project concerned check out our Work Plan and Projects pages.

Gifts available are described on our Catalogue page. As well as the price of the item (worked out at the sterling equivalent of the Malian cost) there is also the overall number of items required for this project. In this way you can see exactly how the gift will help, and once we have reached the target, that item will be taken off the site.

For each gift purchased we will send to you (or other designated person) a beautifully designed MDG Gift Voucher describing the item(s) you have purchased and the benefit this will make to the people of Mali. It is also possible to add a personal message from you.

The money we receive will be passed on directly to J&D for purchase of the selected items though, of course, it is possible that the purchase of the item may be delayed until enough have been bought to make a effective addition to the project. Progress on this will be posted on this web site.

How to Buy

Making a purchase is easy - just select your gift(s) from the Catalogue page and click on the 'Add to Cart' button. You will be taken to a page displaying your purchases so that you can check the correct item has been selected. It is possible to add futher items to your purchases (press the 'Back to Store' button) or change the number of items purchased and press 'Update'. When complete you can make the payment - press the 'Checkout' button and you will be taken to our secure server, where you can make payment by credit card (this is the only method of payment at the moment)
