| Work Plan 2005-8
M.D.G. and Jeunesse et Developpement have an agreed work plan as the basis of their partnership. This outlines the projects and activities undertaken by J & D, which M.D.G will be involved with. The plan is worked out carefully in consultation between the partners, and as it needs to be reasonably flexible it is reviewed regularly. The current work plan covers 2005 to 2008. Information about work prior to 2005 is given on our Completed Projects page. The work plan is broken into four components
1. Organisational development and networking
M.D.G links with other organisation working in Mali, including other J and D partners, such as M.R.D.F and International Service.
As a way of developing a higher profile for Mali in the UK, and achieving better co-ordination betweenUK-based NGOs working in Mali, MDG has stimulated the formation of a Mali Interest Group. Following an inaugural meeting in June of this year, there are now 20 NGOs within this loose network, which aims to share information and take forward common issues. A plan of action is being developed. For more information on the network or to get added to the mailing list, please contact Andy Benson.
M.D.G encourages exchange visits with J&D, and has also arranged volunteer placements with J and D. Though our capacity is limited if you have skills to offer, and would like to know more please get in touch.
Since M.DG started we have linked J&D with expertise in organisational development. As a successful and growing N.G.O this has been welcomed by J&D and its director, Mahmadou Kone. In the last 2 years the U.K based consultant Andy Benson has worked on a volunteer basis with J&D and partners in the U.K.
2. Practical and financial support to J and D projects.
See our Projects page for details
3. Linking schemes
MDG is a member of the United Kingdom One World Linking Association UKOWLA and has been involved in a range of link schemes since we began. These are our main links at the moment:
a. Sangare Primary School, Bamako. linked with Ladygrove Park School, Didcot,
Sangare school has also been helped by MDG members in practical ways, such as electricity supply for classrooms and installation of equipment and telephone.
b. Mamadou M’Bodj Lycee, Bamako linked with Ansford School in Bristol.
We are keen to further develop our school links, and if you are interested please contact us.
4. Link Worker
MDG funds a worker within the J and D team in Bamako. Her name is Ida Tenin Samake, popularly known as Tanty. Tanty supports the partnership work between the two organisations, and sends regular reports.
