Mali Development Group and its partners

MDG works with three regular partners in Mali and one in the U.K:

Jeunesse et Développement (J&D)
J&D is our biggest partner. It is a Malian NGO established in 1991, which has grown steadily since then, and is highly regarded by both the communities it works with and the international agencies who fund its projects. MDG funds a liaison worker, who monitors our projects and reports back regularly on progress. In this way we have been able to make a difference to many communities in Mali
You can find out more about J&D at www.jeunesse-et-developpement.org

The Malian Association of Culture and Hope (MACH)
Founded by the renowned Malian artist Kader Keita the association works with disadvantaged and disabled young people in Mali’s capital, and many of those helped by the association are rescued from the streets
You can find out more about MACH at www.kaderkeita.org

Sahel Eco
A non-governmental organisation (NGO) working with communities in the Malian Sahel on sustainable use of forest resources and helping pastoralists improve their management of natural resources. Funds are raised through the Tree Parties group, which raises money through environmentally focused events run by supporters and their friends.

Malian Community Council
MDG also works in partnership with this organisation, which represents Malians living in the U.K. and is recognised by the Malian Government. Together we have worked on a number of projects to promote better awareness of Mali- through conferences, briefings and cultural activities.
